Eating Healthy When Eating Out

f you go out to a restaurant to eat, you probably
watch your calories very closely. To assist you
with your calorie watching when dining out, these
tips will help you make the most of it.

- Always order salad dressings or sauces on the side,
as this way you have control over how much you add
to your meal.

- When you order grilled fish or vegetables, you
should ask that the food be grilled without butter
or oil, or prepared with very little or either or.

- Anytime you order pasta dishes, be on the lookout
for tomato based sauces instead of the cream based
sauces. Tomato based sauces are much lower in fat
and calories, and tomato sauce can even be counted
as a vegetable!

- You should always try to drink water, diet soda,
or tea instead of soda or beverages that contain
alcohol.

- If you order dessert, share with a friend. Half
of the dessert will equal half of the calories.

- When you choose a soup, remember that cream
based soups are higher in fat and calories than
other soups. A soup can be a great appetizer, as
most are low in calories and you fill you up pretty
fast.

- When ordering a baked potato, ask for salsa instead
of sour cream, butter, cheese, or even bacon. Salsa
is very low in calories and provides a healthy
alternative with plenty of flavor and spice.

- When you are full, stop eating. Listen to your
body and what it tells you.

- If you get full, take half of your meal home.
The second portion of your meal can serve as a second
meal later. This way, you get two meals for the
price of one.

- If you're looking to eat less, order two appetizers
or an appetizer and a salad as your meal.

- If you get a choice of side dishes, get a baked
potato or steamed vegetables instead of french
fries.

- Always look for food on the menu that's baked,
grilled, broiled, poached, or steamed. These types
of cooking use less fat in the cooking process and
are usually much lower in calories.

- Plain bread or rolls are low in both fat and
calories. When you add the butter and oil, you
increase the fat and calorie intake.

- As key ingredients to your meal, choose dishes
with fruits and vegetables. Both fruits and
vegetables are great sources of dietary fiber as
well as many vitamins and minerals.

- Choose foods made with whole grains, such as
whole wheat bread and dishes made with brown rice.

- If you crave dessert, look for something with
low fat, such as berries or fruit.

- Always remember not to deprive yourself of the
foods you truly love. All types of foods can fit
into a well balanced diet.

Tips For You On Weight Loss Products

A quick note on weight loss products. I don't recommend the majority of them because 99% are either dangerous or ineffective. But they do help some people.

In this day and age, if a you want to lose weight, you can do so with a lot of outside help. You can do this in the form of exercise, food regulation, weight loss products and programs and weight loss medicine. A ton of weight loss products are now readily available in the market for your use. But with the numerous products for losing weight available in the market, which ones are effective and which ones are not?

Choosing the wrong ones can be dangerous and create more problems than you just trying to lose weight. There are weight loss pills, drinks, patches and weight loss diets. Which ones work and which ones work longer?

Weight loss products include drinks usually marketed as diet supplement drinks, meant to replace food for a meal. Herbalife products are meant to replace 2 meals everyday with the Herbalife shakes, mixed with nonfat milk, and Herbalife tablets. Ultra Slim Fast recommends drinking two shakes a day and food intake of a snack and dinner of 500 to 650 calories and an exercise plan.

Other supplement drink products are also available in the market and offer the same things as Herbalife and Ultra Slim Fast. However, these products do not come without side effects. Many users have reported that they still feel hungry after drinking these products. And because these products do not really aid in teaching users about proper and healthy, long-term eating, most users give up these products and eventually gain back the weight they’ve already lost.

There are also weight loss products in the form of pills as supplements. Diet pills containing Ephedra claim to aid in weight loss simply by taking a certain number of pills daily. Green tea extract supplements are pills with ingredients extracted from green tea and enhances weight loss. There are other products like this but one thing they have in common is that these products do not automatically guarantee weight loss.

Most of the time, these products are not even proven to be safe and effective for losing weight. There are some weight loss pills that are better than most pill products. These are usually diet pills that contain PPA, glucomannan supplements and chitonan supplements. These products have been effective because they usually instruct users to pair the weight loss pills with a low-fat, calorie-reduced diet.

Before deciding to try these weight loss products or deciding what to try, make sure you do research on the product and its ingredients first. Be sure to consult with the US Food and Drug Administration for the safe ingredients and the ones to watch out for. Once decided, make sure to follow instructions carefully.

Misuse or mishandling the product can result in having more health problems. And users must also remember that these weight loss products are not the only factor in losing weight. They simply aid in weight loss and will not do all the work. The work still has to come from a determination to lose the undesired weight.

Now, of course, you're better off losing your excess weight and building muscles via a way like the Abs Truth Now program. Check it out. http://www.abstruthnow.com

Weight Loss Before After Success Stories

Abs Truth Now promotes a healthy body with six pack abs. There are many benefits to this.

After you diet, you have many benefits. Weight loss before & after stories are common. When you lose a significant amount of weight, your life can change in many pleasant ways. Here are some weight loss before & after stories.

Margie had gained 30 pounds after her second pregnancy. She was sluggish – and not just because she had to keep up with a baby and a toddler. She felt that her weight was keeping her from being the mother she wanted to be.

Margie went to a dietitian to help her change her food choices. One of the things Susan, her dietitian, suggested was to eat a variety of whole foods that were low in fat and high in fiber. Margie had been making a variety of quick meals and picking up fast food because of her duties as a mom. She decided that it was important to start cooking wholesome meals for her husband and herself. She quickly started losing one to two pounds a week. Within 4 months, she was back to her pre-pregnancy weight. What a great weight loss before & after story.

Another factor that was important in her weight loss was wanting to create a family of healthy eaters. She didn’t want her kids to think that food came from McDonalds. Fast food should be an occasional treat not a mainstay of their diets.

Margie’s weight loss before & after story is an inspiration to all new moms struggling to lose the baby weight.

Rob was a teacher at an exclusive public school who has his own weight loss before & after story. One of the perks of teaching at the school was that it provided a catered lunch each day. In addition, fellow teachers often brought specialty foods to share at lunchtime.

The camaraderie in the lunchroom was one of the strengths of the school program. But it was killing Rob’s waistline. He decided that he would bring a low calorie sack lunch and begin walking during 20 minutes of his lunch break. He worried that skipping the lunchroom would mean he would distance himself from his fellow teachers. But, when they saw that he was losing a significant amount of weight on his program, many of the other teachers joined in. Soon, there was a teacher’s walking club at lunch time. A “club” based around an unhealthy eating pattern was replaced by one based on a healthy one. What a wonderful weight loss before & after story!

Kerry was a busy mom with a 50+ hour a week job. When she wasn’t working, she wanted to spend time with her two boys, Gregg who was 9 and Vince who was 11. She felt guilty about going to the gym because that was an hour and a half she could have been spending with her kids.

But, as she crept up near 200 pounds, she knew something had to change. One thing she did was get up a half hour earlier in the morning to take a walk. Then, when she got home in the evenings, she made a point of playing 20 minutes of basketball with the boys every day. Her new physical activity combined with a low fat, lower calorie diet, led to her losing 55 pounds over the course of a year.

Being able to increase the time she spent with her kids as well as losing the weight was a win-win for Kerry. That’s a truly great weight loss before & after story.

Do you have your own weight loss before & after story from following Abs Truth Now? Be sure to share it with others as it can encourage them to lose weight as well. Send them to http://www.abstruthnow.com so they can benefit from weight loss now.

The Mind and Six Pack Abs Results

I came across this article today that surprised me. What do you think about it? I think it could help those of us who are borderline on staying on task....I mean, I had heard about pre-racing mentally to help you go faster before an actual race, but...

INCREASE YOUR PHYSICAL STRENGTH JUST BY USING YOUR MIND!

Sounds like one of those too-good-to-be-true claims, we thought. But researchers at Bishop's University in Quebec recently conducted a study* which indicated that mental training alone could increase muscle strength.

The two-week study took 30 male university athletes and divided them into three groups. The study focused on the hip flexor muscles, since that is one muscle group that can't be readily exercised in other contexts or with free weights.

One group performed physical training with a hip flexor weight machine; one group mentally practiced hip flexions at increasing amounts of weight; the third group did neither. At the end of the study, the group doing the physical exercises had increased its strength by 28.3%, which is not surprising. The group who did nothing not unexpectedly saw almost no difference. But what's astounding is that the guys who practiced only mentally saw their strength increase by 23.7%!

The bottom line of the study isn't that we don't need to exercise—of course we do—but rather that empowering your mind in order to improve your body can really enhance your performance!

We were intrigued by how much this mind-body connection can improve performance, so we did some checking around. Hypnosis is one of the most effective and safest ways to get into the zone. And Core Sports Performance, an audio hypnosis program from The Hypnosis Network, is by far the most thorough, professional, and effective program on the market. * Erin M. Shackell and Lionel G. Standing, "Mind Over Matter: Mental Training Increases Physical Strength," North American Journal of Psychology, 2007, Vol. 9, No. 1, 189—200.

They do offer an installment plan if you feel this could help you be more successful on getting your six pack abs. For me, every little step I take helps me get healthy and

Your Metabolism As You Age and Your Abs Truth

Yes, we are all getting a little older everyday. And as we age, our metabolism gradually slows down. There are ways to speed up our metabolism. It does take effort, but it will help slow the effects of aging.

The way that you combat this is to use strength training to build your muscles up and to help you maintain a more lean body mass. This will help your metabolism to run faster than it might otherwise.

You can also add in a few minutes of intense sprints, on the field, hill or stairs, and your body will be humming to a faster tune.

Add in healthy eating habits and lots of water -- and you'll be on the path to a healthier body with lots of energy and abs to be proud of.

Abs Truth Now Review Addition

I've been thinking about Abs Truth in more detail and what I think about it.

I feel like whenever I go back to the website, I'm always finding out more information about health, diet, new foods and exercises. It's amazing the wealth of information Mike provides you. He really seems to want you to succeed on being healthy.

Of course the intial push is on six pack abs, but that's actually only a small part of what he provides. Following his program focuses on the whole body -- with the abs following along as a benefit. This is because you really need a healthy body overall (with fat reduction included) before you can truly see six pack abs.

And with a healthy body, comes energy. The energy to enjoy life. Your friends. Your family. You just feel better. And that can spill over to your work. I think this is the best part of the program. It's an intangible benefit, but probably the most important.

Hi. I'm Renee' and welcome to my Abs Truth Now Review site.

You're reading my no-holds barred review of what I really think about Truth About Abs. This isn't the official site...if you're looking for that then please click here.

I'll be talking about both the good and the bad in this review. If that's not something you want, then you should leave...

I decided to review this product because I had seen people rave about it on some of the popular internet forums.

Here are some of the comments I found...

"...I was running regularly and working out sometimes, but I was still getting fatter... Everything changed when I started your truth about abs program..."

"I was searching for a program to genuinely help me lose body fat and get a six pack. I came across your website and the money back guarantee you offered suggested to me that you believed in what you were offering & not just interested in selling your e-book...Thank you for all the advice and words of motivation. This entire experience is far more than what I was expecting for my money!..."

"...the results are coming quickly too! (without any special expensive or dangerous pills..."

So, I decided to get the product and get a peek inside. It's quick and easy and you get instant access, which I like. I don't like having to wait for stuff to be shipped to me.

After spending a few minutes reading their material, I was blown away. I can't reveal it all, but I felt overwhelmed with the wealth of information. And wasn't sure if I could do it.

Luckily, that wasn't the case...

They had a report available, Training & Nutrition Insider Secrets for a Lean-Body with loads and loads of lean-body tips you can start to use right away for finally losing your stubborn stomach fat! I got it FREE, but it was well worth the $17.95 value if I would have wanted to buy it. It has that much information!

Here's a couple of my complaints...

I had email issues. Yahoo didn't seem to like receiving his emails, but Gmail was happy with his emails -- so now I can get his great ezines and other bonuses!

Another complaint was that you can't get direct one-on one contact with Mike, but his assistants are really great on helping you out as much as you need. And he over delivers on information so you have what you need to succeed with getting your six packs abs, or just to get into great shape the healthy way.

Overall, I'm impressed by Abs Truth Now. There are tens of dozens great exercise and diet reports to review, a great book and even more support options on helping you to reach your health goal - whatever it may be.

I have already started implementing quite a bit of his knowledge and have learned a lot. All in one place.

Turmeric Benefits

I bought the turmeric capsules today. I have been using it in my food dishes the last couple of months, but not really enough - was afraid of beig heavy handed for the tastebuds.

So, I'm going all out to test it out. I've heard it's good for inflammation, fat loss and so on. Fat loss is always be good, but more importantly, relieving some of these aging aches and pains would be really nice. Sometimes I overdo it and my body lets me know.

So, I know the studies work for a percentage of the study group and I hope to be on the positive side of the group. If you want to read one of my articles in more depth about turmeric check out turmeric

Well, time to go to my daughter's soccer game.

Better Than Crunches

I was reading from Mike that crunches are not as effective on helping you gain six packs as most people would think. The part that caught my eye was that crunches tend to cause pain in the lower back if your back is weak and could cause neck pain if you do them wrong.(people tend to pull on their neck when crunching) Now I've noticed this problem for me now that age is catching up with me....

So what to do?

Do a stability ball roll out. Get on your knees (on a mat or doubled up towel for cushion) with hands resting on the ball (about a foot or so) in front of you. Lower yourself down on the ball, rolling it forward with hands in the same position. Return to your starting position. Do that ten times. You should feel it in the abs, arms, back and sides. Great core builder and a good start!

Try to do a plank on the ball. You're working out your abs even more because of the balancing that you are doing.

There's more. But these will be a great start and they are better than crunches when working for your six pack abs. For a great program, check out http://www.abstruthnow.com

It Takes More Than Crunches For Six Pack Abs

It takes more than crunches for you to get six pack abs. If only it could be that easy.

Your overall health is important, which includes six pack abs. You need to develop a strong back to help support strong abs and vice versa. Each part of your body relies on strong muscles to carry you through your day.

So you need to exercise your whole body to help you toward your goal of having strong, healthy six pack abs. And you need a strong heart and lungs to support your muscles.

Abs Truth Now will help give you great ideas on how to 'crunch' your abs with pushups, pull-ups, cardio, weights and more.

Nope, no magic pill. And not just the same old crunches.

Overall Body Health Will Help Your Abs

Mike emphasizes overall body health will help your abs on their way to being a six-pack. This makes sense since your abs are active in most everything you do. He also says that each muscle helps support other parts of the body. So you don't want to have one section more weak than another. You are more likely to get hurt that way.

There are many exercises that work out your abs and back (remember strong abs help support your back muscles your back helps support your front). A couple of non-traditional ones are the renegade dumbell rows and mountain climbers on the floor.

Renegad dumbbell rows look like a moving plank pose. With a dumbbell in each hand, start like you're going to do push-ups or the plank. Slowly lift one arm (elbows will bend) to lift your weight and then slowly lower it. Arms will be straight when hands are on the ground. Try to keep your body stable and in place. If you've been in the gym, you've probably seen an occasional member do it (usually with a trainer).

Mountain climbers on the floor start in the same position (no weights). You shuffle your feet in and out so that your knees are moving in under your chest and then back to your starting position. Start slow until you get the feel of it, then you can go a little faster, but not too fast or you might fall down! Do it right and you'll probably feel the cardio part as well.

Mike has all kinds of great tips to offer you (both diet and exercise). An overall body tuneup so you can enjoy your life more fully and healthfully -- for healthy abs mean a healthy body.

So go here: http://www.abstruthnow.com to find out how you can help have a healthier you. You'll be most happy you did.
